FLEXPATH Program
General FLEXPATH Information
Program Information
The Conway High School FLEXPath Hybrid Instructional Program is for students in grades 10–12. FLEXPath is designed to provide eligible students with increased flexibility through a combination of face-to-face, virtual learning opportunities, and dual enrollment courses while supporting progress toward graduation and college and career readiness goals. Students enrolled in the FLEXPath Hybrid Instructional Program have access to a wider range of virtual course options than students who are not enrolled in the FLEXPath program.
Please complete this application carefully and thoroughly. Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance into the program. All applications will be reviewed to determine student eligibility and readiness for participation in FLEXPath. Please note that participation in FLEXPath is a privilege and students must meet specific eligibility requirements in order to participate. Enrollment in the FLEXPath program does not guarantee placement in specific courses, as course offerings are dependent upon availability.
Parents and students should carefully consider the impact that FLEXPath participation may have on GPA, class rank, college admissions requirements, athletic eligibility, and overall academic progress. Student athletes are strongly encouraged to meet with their school counselor or Mr. Timothy Jones, School Counselor and NCAA school contact, prior to enrollment to ensure compliance with SCHSL and NCAA eligibility requirements.
To be considered for participation in the FLEXPath Hybrid Instructional Program and to remain eligible for continued enrollment, students must meet and maintain the following requirements:
-
Be enrolled in grades 10, 11, or 12
-
Must have and maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA
-
Remain on track to meet College and Career Readiness (CCR)
-
Must have and maintain reliable daily transportation available
-
Must enroll in at least one virtual FLEXPath course each semester
-
Maintain on-time graduation requirements each semester as outlined in the South Carolina Uniform Grading Policy
-
Maintain appropriate discipline with no Level II or Level III infractions prior to enrollment or during program participation
-
Have no FAs (Failure Due to Attendance) during the two previous semesters prior to enrollment and maintain no FAs during program participation
Please note the following scheduling expectations for FLEXPath students.
-
Seniors may be approved for early release or late arrival, which means there is no academic course scheduled for the late arrival or early release during that block. Seniors must complete an early relase/late arrival application to be considered for early release/late arrival.
-
Students in grades 10 and 11 must maintain a full academic schedule, which includes four academic blocks each semester. Students in grades 10 and 11 may enroll in at least one and up to two virtual FLEXPath courses, while the remaining courses must be traditional in-person classes or HGTC dual enrollment courses.
Please understand that participation in FLEXPath may be revoked if students are not successful academically or fail to make adequate progress in their coursework, along with additional requirements. Students who are not demonstrating satisfactory academic progress may be required to report to campus during the blocks that the FLEXPath classes are scheduled for additional instructional support and monitoring. Failure to cooperate with these expectations will result in the permanent loss of the privilege to participate in future FLEXPath courses.
Students and parents interested in FLEXPath must meet with their school counselor after the application is submitted to discuss eligibility requirements, scheduling options, athletic eligibility, and any potential impact on extracurricular participation.
